Meet Shawna Abbatiello

Shawna Abbatiello is an experienced criminal defense attorney, bringing her skills and expertise to the Law Offices of Jason K.S. Porter, P.A. Ms. Abbatiello spent two and a half years as an Assistant Public Defender in Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit. As an Assistant Public Defender, she handled thousands of criminal defense cases ranging from low level misdemeanors and DUIs to felonies punishable by life imprisonment.

Ms. Abbatiello graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy. After college, Ms. Abbatiello attended Wake Forest University School of Law. While at Wake Forest, Ms. Abbatiello won the Edwin M. Stanley Moot Court Competition, was selected as one of three students for the National Moot Court team, and served as a staff member on the Journal of Law & Policy. She was nominated by faculty to the Order of the Barristers.

Following law school, Ms. Abbatiello clerked for The Honorable Robert J. Humphreys on the Court of Appeals of Virginia. She is licensed to practice in both Florida and Virginia. Outside of the office, Ms. Abbatiello enjoys boxing and watching the Florida Panthers.
