Why should I trust Jason K.S. Porter, P.A. with my DUI case?
People will say, “Mr. Porter, I’ve spoken to another lawyer
or another couple of lawyers and, quite honestly, I’m trying to
make a decision.” And then comes the inevitable question, “Why
should I pick you over some of these other folks I’ve spoken to?”
What I say to people in general is, “I hope you’re comfortable
with us. I hope that you have confidence in what I’ve told you,
and in what I think we can do with your case.” When we talk about our
DUI practice, it’s important to realize that all four of the attorneys
at this firm have significant experience handling DUI defense. One of
my associates’ sole job was to supervise the prosecution of DUI
cases, which gives us particular insight into how the DMV operates when
it comes to the suspension of a license.
I’m not a high pressure guy, and I never have been. The practice
of law is not salesmanship for me, and that is not how we operate at this
firm. My view of representing people is that you focus on the client that
is with you right now, the matter that is in front of you, and you do
the best you can with that client. In the end, when that case is over,
the client will understand that you have done everything that you can
do and walk away happy with the service you provide.
I like sitting down with people who oftentimes are in a certain amount
of distress and be able to say to them that I understand the distress
that they’re in. It’s a very emotional process for them. My
job is not to tell folks how difficult the situation is – my job
is to tell them how it can be made better.
